New Mums Brighten Downtown for Fall

Last Updated 9/24/2025

Downtown Ravenswood is looking extra colorful this week! Our wooden planters have been freshly filled with vibrant mums—just in time to celebrate fall and get ready for the upcoming Downtown Meet & Treat.

A big thank-you goes out to the local kids from 4-H, who volunteered their time to help us switch out the summer flowers and replace them with these cheerful mums. Their hard work and energy helped bring fresh fall color to Washington Street and the rest of our historic downtown.

Please help us water the mums!

🌼 A little note about mums: unlike many other flowers, mums need a lot of water to stay healthy. Once they dry out, they can’t really bounce back. That’s why we’re kindly asking our downtown business owners and neighbors—if you see a planter nearby that looks like it could use a drink, please take a moment to give it some water. Every little bit helps keep our downtown looking its best for shoppers, visitors, and families.

Together, we can keep our planters beautiful all season long. Thank you for helping us make downtown Ravenswood a welcoming, vibrant place to celebrate fall! 🍂
